Core – New iPad (iPad 3) South Africa Pricing Revealed

Local South African Apple products distributor – The Core Group have announced their pricing for the New iPad (aka iPad 3) that is scheduled for launch in South Africa on 27 April 2012.
The New iPad features quite a few upgrades from its predecessor – the iPad 2. The latest from Apple features a 9.7 inch high definition Retina display hosting 3.1 million pixels @ 2048 x 1536 resolution, the screen also boasts improved color saturation.
The new iPad will be powered by a A5X processor and quad-core graphics chip, with Apple claiming its new chips can deliever up to four times the performance of a Tegra 3 . The device also brings iOS to the 4G scene with broadband speeds of up-to 73Mbps, other features include Siri and dictation button for voice-to-text capabilities.
The New iPad will come in six flavors and will set you back quite a bit, with the 16GB Wi-Fi only version costing R4,999 – according to the prices revealed by Core. We have yet to see other local pricing from competitors such as FNB, who have confirmed that they will also be bringing the New iPad to South Africa.
