New iPad (iPad 3) added to FNB Device Offerings

First National Bank has announced the inclusion of Apple’s New iPad (aka iPad 3) to their mobile device promotion which offers qualifying cheque account holders – smartphones and tablets at reduced monthly rates.

Last week Friday (27 April 2012) the New iPad was officially launched in South Africa, and earlier last week the Core Group revealed its pricing for the New iPad with the 16GB Wi-Fi only version costing around R4,999. The local bank had also reduced its pricing on the Apple iPad 2 with the New iPad inheriting the relatively same launch pricing as the iPad 2.

FNB had explained during the early days of their mobile device promotion – that they have a direct agreement with Apple and import Apple products themselves. So for those who don’t know, FNB has been offering mobile devices such as the iPad and Galaxy S II to its qualifying cheque account holders on interest free 24 month contracts with the device cost being added to clients monthly bank charges.

FNB did explain that due to high demand and limited stock they could not guarantee the color of the product and date of delivery.
