G-Connect Launches FlySocial - Free Facebook and Twitter In-Flight

G-Connect has launched their FlySocial Campaign which offers free access to Facebook and Twitter through the G-Connect In-Flight Wi-Fi service on-board Mango flights. G-Connect and Mango launched the in-flight Wi-Fi service back in May 2012, providing Internet access to local air travellers.

“Uptake of in-flight Wi-Fi has been phenomenal,” says Mango CEO Nico Bezuidenhout. “Approximately 8% of all Guests on enabled aircraft are online during flight at this time. This is in line with global usage benchmarks. Discounting usage as we approach the end of the beta phase as well as opening up social media at no cost should drive increased adoption of the service.”

G-Connect have also reduced the prices on their In-Flight Wi-Fi products – R25 for a One Way Pass and R50 for a One Day Pass. G-Connect also launched 2 new products – a 1 Week Pass and a Super Travellers pass (300 Wi-Fi Minutes on ground or in air.

The FlySocial Campaign is from 1 August – 31 August and is open to anyone that will fly with a G-Connect In-Flight Wi-Fi enabled Mango aircraft. Mango Airlines will also be offering a special rate on their flights tickets between Johannesburg and Capetown from only R699.

Check out the G-Connect website for more details on their reduced in-flight Wi-Fi products.
